Can we learn from 1918? Or are things different now?
In dealing with the 1918 flu pandemic, some cities tried to maintain normalcy, some cities chose to shutdown for a month or so. Fear lingered longer in the cities that tried to remain open and economic recovery was slower compared to the cites that shut down.

It is not government edict that is keeping the bulk of the people home. It is concern for the health of themselves and others.
