and that is being able to see where a kid can be most successful and putting them there. When I was coaching the kids for a bunch of years we had a really good team with a lot of athletes, in fact I believe it is 13 of the kids from our youth team that signed to play college football, basketball, or baseball, most football, but we tried to put kids in spots where we felt they would best be able to become as good as they can become.

Of course we had situations with parents who wanted their kids to play other positions but we were pretty firm about sticking to what our evaluations told us. Well some of those kids who wanted to play other positions are now college football players in the positions we put them in. That's where I think a coach can be really helpful to a kid because for the most part a coach wants kids to succeed and so he wants to find a position for them that makes that possible. After that it is mostly up to the kid.
