CoachSpeak Intervention Needed
I think they get a little more one on one during spring practice...
but once they hit fall camp and the season there is no time for that stuff. I think the coaches are limited to 20 hours per week with these guys and that includes practice, film, meetings and the game, there just isn't time to work with each guy at each position individually on skills.

I went over to Hawaii last November to watch a couple of my sons games, they played SDSU and then Army, and coach Rolovich let me hang out and watch everything they did that week I was there. I spent a couple of days pretty much shadowing my son to see what it was like and believe me the schedule was very tight. You've got one position coach with a bunch of players at that position, the grad assistants help some, and they have to squeeze in practice which is almost 100% team with a small amount position but of course multiple players at that position, then they have meetings and film, there was zero time for individual player skills development. They didn't spend even 1 second on it and even then they were up against the time limit.

They coached them up in practice of course, stuff like "you're doing this wrong" or else "you need to do it this way", but that stuff was mere seconds of time not constant repetitions.

I'd like to watch spring practices a little bit more but they got cancelled this year, or at least indefinitely postponed, so I haven't been able to see that process but remember they only get 15 practices for a couple of hours at a time.

There isn't any time that I'm aware of where a position coach can just take his players out onto the field and work on their skills for a prolonged length of time.
