If you want to work as an attorney in Utah you have 4 options:
1- Go to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc.
2- Go to Utah or BYU
3- Go practice in another state for a couple of years in a regional firm and then apply for Utah jobs.
4- Hang your own shingle (or already know someone who has promised you a job).
Too many lawyers want to return to Zion. I'm sure this isn't unique to lawyers, I suspect a lot of white-collar salaries are depressed in Utah by this effect, but it's certainly true for lawyers.
