The PAC and B10 are and always have been the biggest obstacles to a true playoff
Why throw stones at the SEC? They’d love a playoff as they’d almost always have the most teams in it.
Now, what the SEC would fight is splitting up the conference as they have built a brand and they currently get paid a lot for that brand. Florida vs East Carolina just doesn’t have the same ring to it as Florida vs UGA does.
