No. For the reasons I noted. Logistics and the goal is plenty dang big.
Fewer players on a smaller field would create more chances, resulting in more goals. I've seen it of course in futsal and indoor soccer, and is apparent in every small-sided kickaround I've ever played in. Especially if they were to leave the width of the field and only shorten the length. It would tend to create more lateral space to defend, I would think.

And the important improvement for me would be to increase the correlation between quality of play and scoring. That is the fundamental and significant flaw in the Game, in my opinion.
