The culture that has developed on online social networks has taken an axe to reasonable dialogue and debate, made society as a whole more reactive, made news media less reliable, and in many ways made people less informed despite being more connected. What is intended to be a unifier more often ruins relationships and friendships. The online mob can quite literally ruin you for any misstep, or even a perceived misstep.
And those things are just the tip of the iceberg.
