Sure you can take that and live a decent life, a much better one if you just keep working and consider it a supplement rather than your entire income, but no one is taking that and living a life of sweet homes and cars, fantastic luxurious vacations, and no worries about medical costs, etc.
No one is putting 4 kids through college (BYU tuition levels the exception) while maintaining an semi high life style.
It just isn’t that much money, it does not buy you a life of no financial concerns unless you simply don’t spend any money.
