Skips take was lacking and reckless for sure on the topic of depression. But, to fire him for a comment he made, when I think he was trying to be sincere as he felt, will just add to this cancel culture that is so prevalent. Someone says something we don't like, in a way we don't like it, society first response it to say "fire", "cancel", "shut them up". Instead, we need to try and understand where the person was coming from when they made their statement. Build common ground and start to talk about this more in public.

Again, I think Skip's statement was not good, but I would never seek to fire someone because they said something I did not agree with, or in a way that I felt offensive. I would try and understand why they did that.

To your other point, I do think he and others in that profession are overpaid.
