I opened a separate brokerage account about 6 years ago for this exact purpose. I invest 2 car payments per month into
the account and then draw on it when I want to purchase a new one. It has been awesome so far. Because I know some are thinking it, no, I did not need to open an additional brokerage account to do this. It just makes me feel good inside.
