I did that. Several years ago I decided to lease a car. I only had it about a year but kept the direct deposit

of the lease payment I had going to another account so today there's a healthy chunk of money there for a future purchase. Unless you drive a car for 20 years, it seems smart to make a regular payment, either for financing a current car or saving for a future car since we all replace those vehicles on a fairly regular basis.
