You can’t just lower the price so drastically it hurts season ticket prices. People aren’t stupid and catch on quickly. If you price them so low at the last minute everyone waits to buy at a lower price and you make less money. Why would season ticket holders purchase season tickets if the tickets will be possibly sold at near nothing in the future?
Plus quite frequently it doesn’t make sense to sell all your product no matter the price. That’s stupid unless your only goal is to fill the stadium.
And how did you come up with $32 worth of concessions per seat? Do you not see students and young families in the stands? Half of them have the same BYU shirt they received 8 years ago for their birthday. And the other half snuck in Arby’s so they don’t have to pay $6 for a boiled hotdog. Mormons are known to be penny pinchers, and I dont blame them. Honestly they have to be. How many cougar tails is that per seat? LOL
What happens when demand goes up and those seats are priced way too cheap? You will hardly make any additional revenue unless you quickly jack up the pricing.
Do you think it’s easy to quickly raise prices and not anger your customer base?
It’s easy to lower prices, much much harder to raise them. I wish the real world was as simple as you make it out to be.
