I had a good friend that played D1 and in the NBA

He was the player of the year in the state. I was a solid high school basketball player and could hang with him in HS. He was obviously better. Flash forward 2 years to college and the leap he made was unreal. I then shot around with him when he played for jazz and I couldn't do anything against him just goofing off.
