i.e. I agree. Obviously we can't have a low-SOS schedule like THIS year every year, but a schedule that includes 2-3 P5 teams + Boise makes sense to me for BYU. Then in the rare years that we go 10-1 we attract a really great bowl game. In the other years we play Podunk U in the Mud Bowl. I could live with that.
There's only one thing worse that people talking about you, and that's people NOT talking about you. The whole college football CFP/NY6 is a joke anyway (The idea that a small committee can know the top four teams? Really?) So why not game the system to your best advantage? That's what Notre Dame and Boise do.
p.s. An 8-team playoff with an auto bid to the major conference champions is my preference ( top five conference champs + top Group of 5 conference champ + two wildcards?) IMHO W-L records and rankings are irrelevant (in terms of declaring a legitimate NC). Since its inception the #1 seed has won the NC only ONCE.
