There is about a $5M/yr contract difference between 3rd & 4th QB picks usually
From a business perspective, the opportunity cost to get $15-20M over the life of the contract more by waiting a year is a pretty compelling argument.
This is a very tough year to break into the top 3 of QBs, next year, he looks to be a shoe in for top 3, and if he goes 1 or 2, you could be talking $30-40M in the difference between the 1st contract from where the 4th pick contract generally is.
