Insurance for top prospects mostly takes care of that though while in college.
That insurance goes away once a player is drafted. So there is actually more risk injury wise to leave early if a player is going to increase their initial contract by 20 million. If a player leaves early and is drafted at the end of the 1st round and gets hurt rookie season he stands to lose a lot more money than getting injured in college. This only applies if a player has the possibility of getting into the top 10. Which it appears Wilson has if he stays another year.
