I had no idea. Really surprised to hear that. I have used the generic
equivalents to Afrin with great results. Nothing but very effective and absolutely no
side effects with me. The active ingredient is Oxymetazoline hydrochloride 0.05%. Same active
ingredient in Afrin and the generics. I get them at Walmart for cheap. Costco has carried the generic
at times.
