when compared to Oregon, Oklahoma, and Cincinnati. Those 3 teams are either (1) getting auto-bids into the NY6, or (2) dropping below us with an additional loss.
I'm more looking to see where BYU stands compared to other potential at-large teams. Right now, the auto-bid teams look to be:
Alabama (SEC)
Notre Dame/Clemson (ACC)
Ohio St. (Big Ten)
Oklahoma (Big 12)
Oregon (PAC-12)
Florida (SEC #2 in Orange Bowl)
Cincinnati (G5 Champion)
Miami(??) (ACC in Orange Bowl)
It's the other teams that are around BYU we need to see where they finish around. Those teams are:
Texas A&M
Georgia
Northwestern
Indiana
Wisconsin
The good news is that some of those teams are likely to lose which would keep them below BYU. But at the moment, those are the 5 teams that BYU is basically fighting with for the 4 remaining at-large spots in the NY6 (one of those 4 spots could be taken by Clemson/Notre Dame if both make the playoffs; if one of them doesn't then they would get the Orange Bowl bid and bump Miami to the group of "at-large" teams that BYU is competing with).
