And in 2018, UCF was ranked #8 with a SOS of 104, which is pretty comparable to BYU this year, IMO.
And yes, I understand they got the G5 autobid, but that's sort of my point. BYU doesn't qualify for the G5 autobid, so there's incentive to rank them outside of the top 12. If the committee is willing to rank Cincy at #7, it doesn't make sense to put BYU at #14 when their resumes are very similar, unless your goal is to keep them out of the top 12 rankings.

It's a bad SOS to be sure. But other teams with similarly bad SOS have made NY6 games in years past.
