The Vandy coach is the only one to blame
He shouldn't have called a squib kick. By calling a squib kick he set her up for failure, even if it was done to protect her from needing to make a tackle.
If he had just let her do a normal kickoff she'd likely have hit the 10-yard line (at least) and everyone would have said "Great, she can manage kickoffs like most others."
