Stage IV cancer survivor here. I had the same diagnosis. Large mass in my colon
that had extended beyond the colon wall and lesions on my liver. Fortunately the lesions only impacted one lobe of my liver so it was resect-able. This was 7 years ago and I'm now considered "cured" because there's been no evidence of disease for over 5 years.

It's a long, hard road but it is beatable. Fortunately colon cancer is a slow growth cancer and there are effective ways to treat it.
