I don't know the answer to your question, but will pray for your family.
When I went through cancer people were always asking how they could help. I found that prayer was always the most impactful thing people could do.
I know it's hard but probably best not to torture yourself with the what ifs. Wait for the doctor's recommendations and hope/pray for the best. Good luck.
