My mother had colon cancer and it is a very slow acting cancer generally. She
dealt with it over the course of 4 years - meaning, she actually had it for years before she realized/was diagnosed with cancer. She had stage IV by the time it was diagnosed. Something to be watchful for - the standard Modus Operandi for literally EVERY colo-rectal surgeon she had told her she needed to have her colon removed in order to treat the cancer. (Having your colon/rectum removed and having a permanent ostomy bag completely changes a person's life. There are many people who live full lives with this option, but it is not ideal).

My mom REALLY did not want to go through with that option. So, she went to a place called Envita in Phoenix, Arizona, where basically she got a MASSIVE injection nearly every day of crazy healthy stuff (vitamins, etc). To be frank, it sounded kind of fru-fru to me initially (as in not real science). They monitored her progress with actual blood/lab work multiple times per week, and were very results driven. Bottom line, they made her so healthy, that along with chemotherapy, she was able to defeat the cancer, and save her colon/rectum. The combo of chemo + massive nutrition completely saved her life.

Now, I am not a Doctor, but I am a son who saw my mom fight hard through this, and many doctors told her she had next to no chance, and she is thriving and cancer free today. So... don't know the full extent of what is happening with your loved one, but just remember that hope springs eternal, and be sure to explore all your options.

I don't know much about this facility in Arizona, but my mom absolutely credits them with saving her life. Here is the link. I am not affiliated with them in any way, but just though I'd throw it out there for you.
