We rented a house month to month while we looked for a house in Oklahoma

The rental was to take over from an LDS couple leaving from dental school who needed a couple months off the end. The owner was a real estate agent and apparently somehow thought we had promised to use them as the realtor for when we bought our home. After we had bought our home was the first time we heard of any of this, other than some general thing like they were happy to help us look around. No contract, nothing.
