paid until the sale closes. To me it's huge conflict. They typically shame you if you counter or reject an offer simply because it slows down their path to a paycheck. It's the rare realtor (especially a sellers agent) that will actually have your best interests at heart and really work for you to get the best price in a reasonable time frame.
I also hate how realtors want clients to exclusively communicate through them with the other party. The constant back and forth for simple issues is mind-numbing. I've told prospective buyers that if I have to talk to their realtor again, I won't sell them my property. That usually eliminates them from the loop and allows the buyer and seller to negotiate a deal.
They just don't protect their client's interests when they conflict with their own, which is frequent.
