I remember after the 4-9 season Kalani had the lowest rated class in BYU history

That class ended up being Zach Wilson, Tyler Allgeier, Dax Milne, Gunner Romney, Dallin Holker, Connor Pay, Isaiah Herron, Malik Moore among others who haven't played yet. These coaches can evaluate underrated talent.

He only played in four games in 2019. So that can be a redshirt season if he and BYU want it to be. 2020 didn’t count.
