Similar thing happened to my wife and I while st Nordstrom, except we weren’t close enough to do anything. Kids were
sprinting to the doors, carrying a bunch of purses, with a few Nordstrom employees in hot pursuit. The doors locked immediately as they passed the scanners, so they dropped the merchandise and then someone unlocked the door and they got away. One of the employees told us it happens all the time.
