This is my biggest concern against it.
Many clubs have special historical moments in European competition through merit. Now many of those clubs are excluded. Part of what makes the season intriguing is qualifying for CL. Today Liverpool is playing Leeds and battling for a coveted top 4 position to not miss out on next seasons CL, but now today's game is meaningless.
I want to be excited for a change in competition but I'm not completely sold this is the right way to do it.
