But with such a small sample size of games this year, the RPI is an even worse metric than usual. High Point, Central Conn. State, Monmouth, and Furman--for example--are all top-20 RPI teams. And Monmouth only won 5 out of 9 games. The RPI seems worthless this year, but maybe the committee was using it in some way. That may explain some of the weird seeding decisions.
