The lack of inventory may be further exacerbated by lawmakers extending mortgage forbearances and letting banks tack on the missed payments on the end of loans, or even letting buyers refinance to 40-year loans. So all these homes that should have been in foreclosure and on the market, won't be. And prices will continue to go up.
