Rehomed some chickens about 5 years ago & I'd call it my biggest parenting fail
to date (I'm sure I've got stupidity in me when my kids are teens). My kids still tear up when they talk about it. I severely underestimated how tied they were to those stupid poop machines.
Honestly though I really regret it and wish I'd just sucked it up and dealt with the poop.
Your dog issues sound more severe than my chicken issues were but I guess I'm just saying consider it very carefully.
