Rolex watches in precious metals (gold, platinum) have fallen out of fashion - and even though they're significantly more expensive than the steel Rolexes (and therefore, theoretically more desirable), it's actually much easier to get a gold/platinum Rolex than a steel one.

I'm on multiple waitlists to purchase a steel Rolex (the Milgauss - a model that's not even particularly sought-after or well-liked)! I have cash in hand, and have had to wait months to buy the watch I wanted, but if I wanted something in gold (within reason) I could have it sourced in very short order.

Two-tone Rolexes are even easier to find right now.
