I don't know if this analogy makes sense, but in my opinion, the most appetizing photos of hamburgers aren't the staged ones; they're the photos taken by your favorite local burger place that look just like the hamburger they'll serve you.
It's the same with watches for me; we're spoiled with airbrushed marketing photos of watches and sometimes its refreshing to see a candid photo of a unique watch that's actually been worn instead of squirreled away as an "investment."
This Rolex would be my first truly "nice" watch. I got into watches in high school and low-end mechanical watches in college (Hamilton, Nixon "Elite" watches—I didn't know anyone who was into watches back then and kind of got suckered by marketing that was targeted at my age demographic haha). I'd finally saved enough for a Rolex 3-4 years back (when you could still find SS models in the case) but ended up spending it on an engagement ring instead.
And so, several years later, I'm back at it. I'll get a Milgauss as soon as I can find one (thank you for the recommendation, by the way!) and I'd love to build out a collection with an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, a Breguet Type XX, and a JLC Reverso over the years to come.
