My son did this.
He raked bunkers every day all summer. That was the hard part but it was nothing compared to the good parts.
He got himself to work via bike every day by 6 am. We live 3 miles from the private course. He was late only one time. He gets to drive this year.
He worked on a crew of Latinos (Mexicans one summer & Puerto Rican last summer). The crew treated him really well. They spoke almost exclusively in Spanish which really improved his language skills.
Because we’ve always been in a tight labor market they are very flexible with his hours. They pay well too including a Christmas bonus each year (10%).
He’ll be eligible for a $10k scholarship when he graduates. It’s renewable for each year he returns.
