I ride in the morning - 5:30AM during the summer. I can do my 20+ mile loop

with only having 1 or 2 cars pass me the entire time. I stick to roads frequented by cyclists with wide shoulders and or bike lanes. I wear bright clothing, rear lights on my bike and my helmet, with a 1000+ lumen light on the front of my bike.

I feel pretty safe out there.

I agree with you last point. JUst saying that I see too many cyclists who act like they own the road.
