It doesn't happen often, but a well-warranted and appropriate seat in the but - just once - on occasion makes a point that words or other consequences won't.

I have one kid it would never work for. Just make him mad. But I have one that it takes one (not beat him to death hard, just a swat) and he knows he's crossed a line and won't do it again
