Just curious - I've always thought it would be fun to say I'd done one the same way I thought it would be fun to say I'd done a marathon. The marathon was actually more than that - kind of life changing in that I saw that it didn't have to be "once in a lifetime" and was something I could (and have) done multiple times.
But when I think about a full IM, I just can't wrap my brain around the amount of training that would be needed. Maybe I'm making too much of it - I think I need to do a half IM and see how it goes, then maybe consider the full.
I agree with you - completing a full IM is quite an accomplishment. I know someone who has tried twice and failed both times due to having issues during the marathon. To finish 100 times in 100 days is pretty ridiculous. And while he isn't posting times anyone would brag about - he's posting times faster than many who only do one.
