I understand. But the proposed scenario is still giving births to 6 conference

champions. Meaning a G5 will be in the playoff every year with a chance to compete. A G5 has absolutely no shot at a championship in the current format. So looking at last year if there was a 12 team playoff, would you rather be Cincinnati or USC (or Oregon)?

In the current format you’d probably still rather be USC.
