It doesn’t defy common sense at all. Hitting huge holes is yards before contact. Those holes have no bearing on your
Ability to then break a tackle once the hole closes and you are hit. This is general football knowledge and doesn’t require a link to understand this concept. I’ve never once heard anyone ever suggest YAC is attributed to a good OL. That makes no logical sense.
If that was the case, they’d have a running back start 15 yards behind the LOS and have him build up steam before hitting the line.

He had 4.7 yards after contact. That has nothing to do with the OL and it translates across competition levels.
