Your time is certainly valuable, maybe more than the ortho's depending on
your career. Two considerations though. First, if I'm the patient in the chair and something doesn't go exactly right, I don't want my doc telling me "sorry it's time for my next patient." I want her to take all the time necessary to get it done right, and she always does. Second, in today's fee for service structure, fewer patients equals higher cost per patient. So if my doctor is waiting for my arrival and doing nothing, my costs just went up. Which would circle back to your original question of how valuable your time really is.
