Jay Rick Intervention Needed
Pinkerton is a classic example of people wanting music “ownership.” A big part
of loving a band is feeling they belong to you on some level. When your favorite band gets huge (like Green Day, for example), you don’t own them anymore.

Then there’s a tendency to latch onto something else of theirs that isn’t as popular with the masses - pre-dookie Green Day, for example. That’s Pinkerton. It’s good. I like it. And since it’s not as popular, you can live it and feel like it’s yours.
