Middle stage dementia is still pretty bad. Not sure why we want to keep the body whole when the mind is gone. Let them eat cake. Literally.
My grandmother sits and stares at the wall most of the time, talks to her dead husband the other times, and barely remembers family members. Her diet is jello, soda, ice cream, and lollipops. She doesn't want anything else. Loving Auntie wants to give her boost and ensure and healthy stuff. I tell my mom to let her have whatever she asks for. I find it inhumane to do otherwise.
