I cannot get over the number of 15-30 year olds who are clueless about why conferences form and what makes a school wanted for inclusion. A program with a bad symmetry, 38000 seat stadium in a small town is not attractive to the PAC or to the B12. There is no financial interest and certainly no Academic Interest. I am trying to wrap my head and 40 years covering college football around the idea that BOISE STATE is not academically relevant or even remotely qualified to join the PAC, and in a PAC 5 group of programs where a departing OU and TEXAS would leave holes, they are not going to fill it with a small irrelevant venue that has no media market. BYU alone has three times the local market, probably 5-10 times the actual market and a stadium that if measured against all other B12 institutions would rank #3 right now and #1 if OU and TEXAS left...also #1 in prettiest settings anywhere and the Basketball Arena is 4th or 5th largest in the nation.

I get that all the Utidaho spud busters with relatives in Idaho seem like equals, but they really are not in the college world. Boise is barely better than a Jr College academically and you think Cal, Stanford, UCLA and USC are going to invite them in? When Utah joined that was the Law and Physics professors asking the Industrial Arts major on board. True Utah has a medical school, but most PAC universities do. Utah only recently cracked the top 200 on Forbes list. BYU is top 100 along with all but four of those PAC 12 schools (OSU, Wazzu and ASU) Inviting Boise would be like asking the janitor homeless brother to dine at the front table. It's never happening. BYU isn't likely either for religious discrimination reasons, but at least its actually qualified both athletically and academically.

As for the B12, everyone was laughing when it invited West Virginia (then ranked 413 by Forbes), and so I doubt that league ever extends its embarrassment lower than that. What good is it if your league says P5 and so does the average IQ of its member alumni. Boise has no shot and if it does, then the B12 should dissolve.
