some consequence. How many teams are in this league? 20? 24? 32?
What type of buyout money has to be left on the table for these guys to break contract?
If UU is consistently playing better than almost any other second tier or third tier power five, by eliminating the blue bloods, Utah will only win more games.
For example, let’s say USC and Oregon bolt for greener pastures and join a league with Clemson, Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and the SEC.
What happens when they are 4-8, 5-7 every year? With all that travel?
Do they still dominate western recruiting? Probably.
The remnants of the ACC, Big10, P12, etc, would create their own 20-team conference. Utah would make about the same amount they’re making now.
This time, Utah’s current competition remains the same or gets easier. Utes keep winning 9, 10, 11 games a year.
Utah would still clean up getting solid transfers from the backups of the super conference. Sustained success.
Not sure there Is a legit drop off for Utah in the super conference concept.
