PAC 12 can do just about anything, but won't...
While it isn't the ACC (excluding Louisville) is pretty academically oriented (I think only a couple of programs lie outside the top 200 (if any) and Louisville is in pop-up text book territory at around 458. The PAC is more rigid, and has fewer choices. Some have suggested it add TCU (Dallas Market) but really, another faith based institution over BYU? If it takes one it might be forced by law into taking more than one. What about Baylor? Same deal.

Then there is the financial aspect of just adding teams from the Big eight footprint. The footprint has athletes foot but is not clad in media suede or shiny leather. The mid-west feeds America and that is all the coast wants to know. Grow my food, process it, ship it and let me pick it up in big-box stores, but I don't want to see the hog farm, wheat fields or corn stalks. I want gas in my car, get it for me, but I sure don't want to be inconvenienced by a 4 hour plain trip and then 2 hour bus ride for a gig. That is the cashmere sweater mentality from Seattle to Laguna Beach.
