Honestly, I think it would just create a bigger gap between the neutered big 12
and the G5s. Boise is at the top of the MWC, so taking them ensures an even bigger gap between new Big 12 and the G5s.
Since the last realignment Boise has been to the conference championship game 5 times, Fresno 4, SDSU 2, everyone else 1. Boise has won 3; Fresno 2; SDSU 2; SJSU 1; all others 0.
So, who would you take to neuter the MWC even more. No way Fresno moves the needle, take away Boise and you really burn down MWC. Air Force has had only 1 appearance and they lost. Air Force has also only had 5 winning seasons in the last 10 years. Their only ranked season since joining the MWC in 1999 is finishing at 22 in 2019. If they are going to add a service academy, then they should add Navy.
Maybe Big 12 can tell Boise that they have to change the smurf turf in order to join.
