2020 Wilson was 2019 Huntley on steroids
Huntley had a great senior year in a watered down Pac12. According to PFF on all throws at least 20 yds past the LOS Huntley was the nations #6 rated QB. For the year he threw only 6 turnover-worthy passes (TWP's) and had 18 big-time throws (BTT's) and PFF said that was "considering that he wasn't tasked with throwing downfield all too often". He finished with a passing grade of 89.0, that's pretty darn good all things considered.

Wilson set the single season PFF passing grade record at 95.5 and his 86.4 passing grade on throws outside the pocket was #1 in his draft class ahead of guys like Fields, Lawrence etc. PFF analysts said he has the arm strength NFL teams covet. From the left has to the right sideline Wilson threw 38 times last year with a 96.4 grade. Wilson had a higher passing grade when flushed out of the pocket and on the run than Huntley did on all throws including in a clean pocket.

Huntley was a good college QB running a very controlled offensive system. He has all the physical tools to stay in the NFL as a backup and have a nice career. However, when you read NFL analysts assessments of both you can easily see he's just not in Wilson's friggin' league.

Here's what PFF said about Wilson's ability to make elite NFL throws:
"He showed off a great ability to throw deep down the sideline into zone windows. A throw on BYU's last drive against Coastal Carolina showed this off.

Inside his own 10-yard line and facing a second-and-20, Wilson connected with Gunner Romney down the sideline. Coastal showed a two-high safety look pre-snap but rotated into Cover 3 on the snap, with the two-high safeties sitting at the sticks. BYU was running a 3-verts concept on which the two outside receivers run vertical routes outside and a slot receiver finds a hole deep between the safeties. Against two-high safeties, Wilson will look to his first vertical receiver in the hole created by the low corner and the half-field safety and move to the slot receiver if the safety has widened too far to the sideline. Because of the rotation to Cover 3, Coastal covered his first two reads in the progression. Without hesitating, Wilson moved his eyes all the way to his backside vertical receiver, climbed the pocket and made a throw in the hole created between the deep cornerback who had drifted infield a bit and the low flat defender who had started to get depth.

This is the arm strength NFL teams covet. Wilson has it."

According to PFF They factor in SOS when they do their player ratings, they had Huntley as the 8th best QB in his draft class. Wilson was the best they've EVER graded at QB.
