Are you saying that Smith's favorable circumstance was coming out in a weak QB..
...draft class in 2005? Hindsight being 2020 we can see now how badly the NFL scouts missed when they assessed Smith as the #1 and let Rodgers fall to 24. We now know Rodgers is a Super Bowl winner and a future HOF'er while Smith is a journeyman QB with a respectable career (but definitely NOT a #1 pick and certainly in the discussion as a draft bust).
As for how Wilson will be viewed regarding his draft position, we'll just have to wait 10 yrs or so and see.
