Is amazing and funny, cute, smart, etc. But reality is that she isn’t what you think she is. It’s a parent thing. If she really was all that, she would be going. It’s all good, it’s just a dance in the end. She will move on and have more fun in college.
Plus she should only go with someone that really wants to go with her. If not, it’s probably more fun not going.
