With how expensive things are for prom I can't fault a boy for not wanting to go
Especially if he has to pay for everything and doesn't even really want to be there in the first place.
I think a paradigm shift needs to happen to make these young women happy. Honestly, I think the best idea would be that the girls parents or the girls themselves should pay for the date. You'll all laugh, but it's the girls that want to go badly and are hurt if they don't. The boys don't want to be there to begin with. Add on ther financial responsibility and it's over.
